Clidastes propython

Clidastes was a small mosasaurid; growing up to an adult length of only around 4-5 meters (13-16 feet) in length. It was a coastal species, likely sticking to the shorelines to prey on smaller animals while steering clear of the open water to avoid larger predators like other mosasaurs. Clidastes is known from central and eastern US, in late Cretaceous rocks.
